Kureeppally YMCA - The Proud of Kureeppally,was established in 1986.Rev.S.Alexander(Vicar,Marthoma Church,Mukhathala),Sri.L.Mathew and Sri.Y.Thankachan were the charter President,Secretary and Treasurer respectively.YMCA has a property of 5 cents in the prime location of kureeppally.It was started by the sponsoring of Y's mens club,kundara,when Mr.L.John was being the District Governor of that club Kureeppally is a Goodstanding YMCA, which has been getting affiliation from National YMCA since 1990, with a membersip of about 160 including Uni-7, Hi-y members and 80 life members. It is the part of proud histroy that the members of Kureeppally YMCA, Mr. L. Mathew and Mr. Y. Thankachen were positioned as the Sub- regional chairman and Mr. L. Mathew, as Regional Treasurer.Kureeppally YMCA aims the spiritual empowerment of the society and the supporting of the personalities who are socially and economically backward. YMCA gives educational aid to the students for their excellencies and each awards to the toppers of SSLC, Plus Two and VHSE courses. Endowments funds are using for the purpose of medical aid to poor.In the YMCA building, a tailoring school is counducting under the supervision of a teacher, with the fees at concessional rate. There is a free PSC coaching class, conducting by Mr. Thomas Alexander, our former secretary.The main yearly programmes of Kureeppally YMCA are, Director Board meeting on every first saturday, and monthly prayer meeting and business meeting on every second saturday. YMCA gives emphasis to the programmes such as free medical camps, charity works. Prayer fellowships, health and career-oriented classes, and other activities in connection with Regional, Sub-Regional and national. Kureeppally YMCA has a dream project to construct a multi-story building suitable for business needs, conference hall, office room and for various purposes. The income of YMCA is not sufficient to meet the daily expense. So we have to raise a fund for the project with the help of YMCA members and well wishers. Let us pray for all things. Mr. P.O. Thomas Panangottu, Mr. John Varghese, Chembakathumoottil and Mr. D. Samuel Kunnathu are now volunteering as the President, Secretary and Treasurer respoctively.
